This is an archival site for the Akneos gallery, which was situated at the historic center of Naples in the Palazzo Monte Manso di Scala.
Akneos was co-founded and co-directed by artists Telemachos Pateris and Enrico de Maio in the summer of 2008 with the aim to showcase mainly medium scale installations with technological features and interactive interfaces.
The gallery represented artists based in Naples and in Athens in order to interact with the cultural scene of these two cities that were soon to be deeply affected by the financial crisis which was spreading around the world and its consequential sociocultural implications.
In autumn 2010 due to financial problems and diverging interests regarding the curatorial intentions of the owners, Enrico de Maio continued the gallery until 2012 while Telemachos Pateris went on to study Philosophy and in 2018 founded: Laboratorio di Installazioni Concettuali in Naples and together with Dimitris Zervos the curatorial and artistic duo: Sklethra in Athens.
